Fords bring their own quirks, mostly thanks to SYNC and the factory premium systems. We upgrade F-150s, Mustangs, Explorers, Escapes and Rangers in our Carson bay and plan around the tech you want to keep.

SYNC changes the plan
Most Fords from the last several years have some version of SYNC. It handles calls, voice commands and on many models a lot of settings. Depending on the year and trim, Fords also came with premium audio, like Sony, Bang and Olufsen, or Shaker on some Mustangs. Those systems usually have a factory amp.
So before we talk gear, we figure out which SYNC version and which audio system your Ford has. That decides whether we swap the radio or keep it.
We also see a lot of Fords used for work. Those customers want a system that is loud enough for the job site and simple enough that nothing breaks. We build for that. Clean wiring, fused right, tucked away from boots and tools.
Radio swaps and keeping the screen
On many older F-150s, Rangers and Escapes, a new CarPlay or Android Auto receiver is a solid upgrade. We use a vehicle-specific dash kit and, where supported, an integration module like iDatalink Maestro to keep steering-wheel controls and vehicle info.
On newer Fords where the screen runs climate or settings, we usually keep it. Then we upgrade the speakers, add an amp and a sub, and use a line output converter or sound processor to get clean signal from the factory radio.
Mustang, F-150 and SUV builds
An F-150 SuperCrew has room for a loaded enclosure under or behind the rear seat. That is the most common way we add bass to a Ford truck. A Ranger is smaller inside, so we look at compact options.
In a Mustang, people want punch without losing the trunk. A ready-built enclosure or a slim box works well. In an Explorer or Escape, we keep the cargo area usable and hide the amp.
Up front, a set of Kicker speakers is a big step up from the factory paper cones. Dash cams and backup cameras are common adds on Ford work trucks, and we hardwire them clean.
Year, model, trim
A Mustang GT with Shaker and a base EcoBoost are two different conversations. Tell us the year, make, model and trim. Text us and we confirm what fits and quotes the install.
Ford car audio, CarPlay and remote start: questions
Will I lose SYNC if I put in a new radio?
Some SYNC features go away with a radio swap, and on some models we recommend keeping the factory unit. We tell you exactly what changes before any work starts.
Can you add a sub to my F-150?
Yes. In a SuperCrew we usually use a loaded enclosure under or behind the rear seat. Text us your year and cab style for options.
My Mustang has Shaker. Can I upgrade it?
Yes, but Shaker systems have their own amp, so the plan is different. Send the year and trim and we will lay out the options.
