About iDatalink at Audio MotorSports
iDatalink makes the Maestro modules, the part that keeps a new radio talking to the car. There are four iDatalink pieces listed, and each one shows its price on the item. The Maestro RR and the second-generation Maestro RR2 are the modules. The KIT-MUS2 is the Maestro vehicle kit for select Ford Mustangs, and the KIT-CAM1 is the kit for select Chevrolet Camaros.
When the factory radio comes out, the car can lose more than music. Steering wheel buttons, chimes, factory amps, and the screens that show tire pressure or engine data can all run through it. A Maestro module keeps what the car supports, and on a compatible Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine, or Sony receiver it can put gauges and vehicle information right on the new screen. Each module is flashed for your exact vehicle, and most cars also need a vehicle-specific harness or kit.
That is why we ask for the year, make, model, and trim before we quote it, and we check which receiver you want, because not every radio shows every Maestro feature. If the car is covered by a PAC interface or a Metra kit instead, he will say so. The module, the harness, and the radio go in together in our bay, often the same day. Call first so the right harness is on the shelf.
