What it is

Entry Hertz component set, a clean step past coaxials.

The Hertz DSK 165.3 is a Dieci Series 6-1/2-inch 2-way component set with separate woofers, tweeters and crossovers, rated for 80 watts RMS at 4 ohms. Dieci is the entry Hertz line, and splitting the tweeter out lets it sit higher in the car for a clearer front stage than a coaxial. It runs on a good receiver and opens up with an amplifier.

Pickup is at the Carson shop. Call to confirm it is on the wall before you drive.

Guides and comparisons

  • 6.5-Inch Car Speakers Compared: Coaxial vs Component from Kicker, Focal, Hertz and PioneerPick a coaxial pair like the Pioneer TS-G1620F, Kicker DS 43DSC6504 for a simple drop-in upgrade on a factory radio. Pick a high-sensitivity pair like the Focal ICU 165 or ISU 165 if you are keeping the factory radio and want more volume from it. Pick a component set like the Kicker KS 51KSS6504 when you can mount the tweeters up high and plan to add an amplifier.
