Car Speakers: questions

Coaxial or component speakers?

Coaxials have the tweeter built into the woofer, so they drop into factory spots and are the simple upgrade. Component sets split the woofer and tweeter so the highs come from up near your ears, which usually images better, and they often go in front with coaxials in back. Our speaker upgrade guides by vehicle show common layouts.

Do I need an amp for new speakers?

Not always. Efficient speakers like the Pioneer TS-A653FH or JBL Club 54F can sound good on radio power. Component sets and higher-output lines usually come alive with a 4-channel amp. Tell us how loud you listen and we will point you to a match, and our Car Amplifier Buying Guide covers the basics.

What size speakers fit my car?

It depends on the exact year, make, model and trim, and even the trim level's factory audio package. Use the Shop by vehicle tool or our speaker upgrade guides by vehicle, or call or text us and we will confirm the sizes and any adapters before you buy.

Should I add sound deadening to my doors?

It helps. Treating the doors with a kit like the Dynamat Xtreme 10435 cuts rattles and firms up mid-bass, so new speakers sound fuller. We can add it during the install in our bay.

Can I check out on this page?

No. There is no cart. Hold the item or call to confirm. You pay at the counter, we install it in our own bay, and a Payment Plan is available.
