Because the install is what you are paying for. Film hand-cut on your glass, shrunk to fit the rear window as one piece, and finished to the gasket does not bubble, peel or show gaps. A tint job redone later costs more than doing it once at a shop that tints every day.
A standard car takes a few hours for the side glass and rear window. La Habra Heights customers can wait at the shop or drop the car at 9:30 and pick it up in the afternoon. Keep the windows up for a few days afterward while the Solar Ceramic cures.
Yes, as long as the front side windows still pass 70 percent of light. Solar Ceramic blocks heat through its ceramic layer rather than by being dark, so a legal light shade up front still cuts the heat. The rear doors and back glass can go darker.
Tesla window tint is quoted at the shop by model, because the rear glass and side windows vary between the 3, Y, S and X. What is the same on every Tesla is the method: the rear window is laid as one piece of ceramic film, and nothing on the car's cameras or glass roof is disturbed.
