What it is

Pioneer NEX receiver with wireless CarPlay, Alexa built in and a camera input.

The Pioneer DMH-W4600NEX is a double-DIN multimedia receiver with a 6.8-inch capacitive touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Amazon Alexa is built in, and Bluetooth handles hands-free calls and streaming. It is SiriusXM-Ready, has a 13-band graphic EQ for tuning and includes a backup camera input. A good pick for drivers who want wireless phone integration and voice control in a standard double-DIN dash, with preamp outputs for adding amplifiers later.

Pickup is at the Carson shop. Call to confirm it is on the wall before you drive.

Guides and comparisons

  • Backup Camera Guide: Kenwood Cameras and the Receivers with Camera Inputs We CarryFor most cars, the simple setup is a receiver with a camera input plus the Kenwood CMOS-230LP1, which Kenwood lists as working with most aftermarket receivers that have a camera input. For a sharper picture, the Kenwood CMOS-740HDLP shoots 1280 x 720 HD, but it connects through HD-TVI and works only with select Kenwood receivers that support HD cameras. If you also want a front or side camera, pick a receiver with more than one camera input, like the JVC KW-M875BW, Kenwood DMX958XR
