Should I drive from Canoga Park just for a subwoofer installation?
If you want bass that does not rattle the trunk lid or dim the headlights, yes. The box is the cheap part; the fused power run, the solid ground and the gain setting are what you drive for. The Dual Kicker Comp box is $249 box only as of October 2026, with the install quoted on your car.
Does a subwoofer need a new head unit?
No. A line output converter takes signal from the factory speaker wires and feeds the amplifier, so the dash stays stock and the bass comes up anyway. If you later want Apple CarPlay and Android Auto installation, the amp is already in place and only the deck changes.
What does amplifier installation involve at your Carson shop?
Power wire from the battery through a fuse, a ground scraped to bare metal, RCA and remote turn-on run away from the power cable to avoid noise, then the amp mounted securely and the gains set with the deck at full clean volume. Everything is zip-tied and hidden before the trim goes back.
Can a Canoga Park driver get speaker replacement the same day as the sub?
Yes. Speakers, amplifier and subwoofer go in on the same visit when you tell us the plan up front. It is a full-day drop-off, so book a morning slot, leave the car, and pick it up before closing with the whole system tuned together rather than piece by piece.
