Is it worth driving from Santa Monica for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto installation?
Yes. The deck is the easy part; fitting it so the dash looks factory, the steering wheel buttons work and the backup camera comes up in reverse is the labor you are driving for. Done once in Carson beats a loose screen that has to be pulled and redone.
Can you add CarPlay to a European car with a factory navigation screen?
Often. Many German and Japanese cars have a dash kit that replaces the factory screen while keeping climate controls and the amplifier. Some newer cars are better served by an interface module that adds CarPlay to the factory screen. Text the model and Nick will say which.
What does head unit installation cost?
The deck itself varies by screen size and features, and the kit and interfaces depend on the car, so it is quoted at the shop on your vehicle. The posted prices on this page cover tint, alarms, remote start, pods and the sub box. Everything else is priced on the car.
Will my backup camera and steering wheel controls still work?
Yes. We install a steering wheel control interface and a camera retention adapter during the head unit installation. Volume, track and voice buttons are mapped to the new deck, and the factory camera comes up when you shift into reverse.
Can I get window tinting done the same day as the CarPlay deck?
Usually. Solar window tint is 249 dollars and Solar Ceramic is 329 dollars installed as of October 2026 on four doors and the rear glass. Mention both when you book and we will plan the bay so you only make one trip from Santa Monica.
