Is a Viper alarm worth the drive from Covina?
Yes, because the alarm is only as strong as its wiring. We find the correct door, hood, trunk and ignition wires, solder every splice and hide the module so it cannot be found and ripped out in seconds. The 3108V is $269 installed as of October 2026, and that price includes the labor that makes it work.
Will remote start installation keep my Covina car's factory key working?
Yes. The Compustar bypass module talks to the immobilizer only during a remote start; your factory keys and fob keep working exactly as before. Start from the Compustar remote, from the factory fob with a lock-lock-lock press, or from a phone app. Pricing starts at $499 as of October 2026.
How long does Compustar installation take?
A remote start on its own is most of a day in the bay, because the bypass module has to be programmed to the car and every connection tested before the dash goes back together. Drop the car in the morning and it is ready before 6:00 PM. Nick confirms the finish time when you book.
Can a GPS tracker be added to the same alarm appointment?
Yes. A GPS tracker installation fits naturally alongside the alarm since the harness is already open. The unit gets a dedicated circuit and a hiding spot a thief will not check, and it sends location and movement alerts to your phone. It is quoted at the shop with the rest of the system.
Will the alarm go off every time a truck passes on my street?
Not when the shock sensor is adjusted on the car, which is part of every install. We set it so a light tap chirps a warning and a real hit on the glass sounds the siren, while passing traffic does nothing. If it ever needs a second adjustment, bring it back.
