Questions
Walnut Park questions we hear
Can a Walnut Park driver get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto installation in a car from the early 2010s?
Yes, that is the most common CarPlay install we do. A double-DIN or single-DIN touchscreen with the correct dash kit replaces the factory radio, and an interface module keeps the steering wheel controls. The visit from Walnut Park is about 9.7 miles and the job is usually done the same day.
Wireless or wired CarPlay, which should I pick?
Wireless is convenient for short trips because the phone connects as you start the car. Wired charges the phone and never drops. Many head units do both. We will suggest a unit based on how you drive and whether you want a backup camera input on the same screen.
Will Android Auto work on the same head unit as CarPlay?
Yes. Nearly every current head unit we sell supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so a household with an iPhone and an Android phone can share the car. Each phone pairs once, then the screen picks up whichever phone is connected.
Do you also tint cars from Walnut Park on the same visit?
We do. Window tint and a stereo install can be booked together and finished in one appointment in most cases. Solar or Solar Ceramic goes on the doors and rear glass while the head unit is wired. Tell us both jobs when you schedule.
How is dash camera installation wired so it does not drain the battery?
We hardwire it to a fuse tap with a voltage cutoff, so the camera records in parking mode but shuts off before the battery gets low. The cable is tucked along the headliner and pillar. It pairs well with a GPS tracker if you want the car watched from your phone.
