Mono Amplifiers: questions
How do I match a mono amp to my sub?
Match the amp's RMS power at your sub's final impedance. Our Car Amplifier Buying Guide shows how, or we can work it out with you.
What does 1-ohm stable mean?
It means the amp can safely drive a 1-ohm load, which comes up with some multi-sub or dual voice coil wiring. Lower impedance draws more current, so wiring and charging matter.
Do I need a bigger battery or alternator?
Not always. Smaller amps usually run fine on a healthy stock system. Large amps can dim lights or strain the charging system, so we look at your total power before suggesting any upgrades.
