The fuse near the battery protects the power wire if it ever shorts. Kits like the Rockford Fosgate RFK4X include a 100 A fuse; the right size depends on your amp, and we match it when we install.
What is oxygen-free copper wire?
Oxygen-free copper, like in the Rockford Fosgate RFK4X, carries current well. Some lower-cost kits use copper-clad aluminum, which generally needs a bigger gauge to do the same job.
