  • Car Security Guide: Viper Alarms, GPS Tracking and Dash Cams That Record While ParkedFor an alarm, Viper is the brand we install: the 3108V and 3308V add an impact sensor, six-tone siren and starter interrupt, and the 5308V and 5908V add remote start. To know where the car is, the Viper VSM550 SmartStart Pro adds GPS location on demand, SmartFence, speed and tow alerts and alarm notifications on your phone, with a service plan. To have video of what happens while you are away, pick a dash cam with parking mode, like the Thinkware U1000 or Q1000, hard-wired by the shop.
  • Viper Remote Start and Alarm Systems Compared: 2103V, 3108V, 3308V, 5308V, 5908V and SmartStartFor remote locks only, the Viper 2103V adds keyless entry with an impact sensor. For theft protection, the 3108V is a 1-way security system and the 3308V adds a 2-way LCD remote that confirms commands. For remote start plus security, pick the 5308V with a 2-way LCD remote and about a quarter mile of range, or the 5908V with a 2-way color LCD remote and up to a mile. To start and track the car from your phone, add the VSM550 SmartStart Pro module, which needs a service plan.

Viper · 5908V 2-Way Security

They're coming for everything. Not this one.

They're coming for your wheels, your catalytic converter, your tailgate and your tools. The Viper 5908V sends the alarm straight to your 2-way remote the second they try it, and you can add GPS tracking with alerts on your phone (GPS module and service plan required).

Car Alarms: questions

What is the difference between a 1-way and a 2-way alarm?

A 1-way remote sends commands to the car. A 2-way remote also gets messages back, so the Viper 3308V can show on its LCD screen that the car locked or that the alarm went off. Pick 2-way if you often park out of earshot.

I just need remote locks. Is there an option?

Yes. The Viper 2103V keyless entry system adds remote locks to an older car or one that lost its factory fobs, and it includes an impact sensor. It is a simpler job than a full alarm.

Can I add remote start later?

The Viper 3308V is SmartStart compatible, and Viper also makes alarm and remote start combos in our Remote Start aisle. Tell us what you want now and later, and we will plan the install for your exact vehicle.

Can I check out on this page?

No. There is no cart. Hold the item or call to confirm. You pay at the counter, we install it in our own bay, and a Payment Plan is available.
