Digital Media Receivers: questions

Why choose a radio without a CD player?

No disc mechanism means a shallower chassis, fewer moving parts and usually a lower cost, and most people stream from a phone anyway. If you still want CDs, look at our Single DIN receivers.

We confirm the right piece for your year, make and model at the shop.

It is a Hi-Res digital media player with 192kHz/24-bit playback, LDAC wireless playback and a separate commander unit. It is aimed at high-end systems built around a sound processor and amps, so ask us how it fits your plan.

Will a digital media receiver work with an amp?

Yes, if it has preamp outputs. The Pioneer MVH-S322BT lists 4V preamps and the Kenwood Excelon KMM-X705 lists 5V. For a radio without RCA outputs, a line output converter can feed an amp.
